Explore the best of the Costa Brava

We know all its secrets, from its most beautiful coves to its best beachfront restaurants, and we’ll share them with you as you take your own private tour of the region’s most inviting seaside hideaways.

This suggested tour covers some of the highlights of the Costa Brava, and includes plenty of great walking country, wonderful restaurants, and a fabulous private yacht trip along the stunning Cap de Creus headland.

Spectacularly beautiful places

Anthony helped us to find and visit spectacularly beautiful places that we would have never discovered in Barcelona and on the Costa Brava. It felt like a family friend was showing us the sights.

A wonderful trip for our family of four

Anthony planned a wonderful trip for our family of four (kids aged 8 and 11). The hotels were fantastic and perfectly located, the restaurants he recommended were so good and at places we would have never found on our own, and the activities were so great (horse back riding, biking through vineyards, sunset hikes, and wine tasting in vineyards).

Incredible organisation and knowledge

Anthony was able to take us to the best wine producers and restaurants in the Priorat region. He organised everything incredibly well and his flexibility, knowledge, professionalism and hospitality made our tour an amazing and unforgettable experience. Cannot recommend him and Barcelona Inside and Out enough!

Explore the secrets of the Catalan Coast, a 12 day tour

We take you up a beautiful stretch of the Costa Brava in Girona to some secluded seaside villages where you’ll stay in lovely boutique hotels and try delicious seafood, and enjoy all kinds of surprises along the way.

  • Day 1

    Barcelona

We meet you on your arrival at Catalonia and tailor the perfect 1-day itinerary for Barcelona, making sure you see get to see highlights such as Gaudí’s Sagrada Família and the magnificent Boqueria market, but also picking out some little-known attractions and secret corners so that you get a real feel for the city. Of course we’ll organise a long, lazy lunch by the beach and a wonderful tapas supper too!

  • Day 2-4

    Best of the Costa Brava

The magnificent Costa Brava is a glorious stretch of reddish coastline covered in pines indented with tiny, sandy coves. Your hotel for two nights is just a stone’s throw from one of the loveliest calas, near the pretty town of Begur, and is set in a charming Catalan farmhouse surrounded by gardens.

The restaurant serves the freshest local seafood, which you can enjoy out on a candle-lit terrace. You’ll be able to take scenic cliff walks to picturesque seaside towns such as Sa Tuna and explore medieval villages like Pals and Peratallada.

There’ll be time to simply soak up the sun on one of the gorgeous local beaches, and enjoy a languid lunch with sea views in whitewashed Tamariu. We’ll also make reservations for a romantic dinner at one of our favourite restaurants in Begur, tucked away in the medieval warren of streets.

  • Day 5-7

    Fishing villages of the Emporda

Your home-from-home over the next three days is one of the finest small spa hotels in Catalonia, located right opposite the beach in the beautiful Empordà region. This elegant, eco-friendly hotel also boasts two outstanding restaurants, where you can dine on local specialities.

This area is ideal for exploring on two wheels, and there are plenty of flat, easy bike routes which wind past vineyards and meadows to lovely villages built of local stone.

You’ll also visit L’Escala, a former fishing village which has expanded into a sizeable resort, but remains well known for its outstanding local seafood, particularly its anchovies, which are justly famous throughout Spain.

The highlight will be a private boat trip from Roses around the Cap de Creus, a wild and magnificent headland where the wind has scoured the rocks into surreal shapes. This was the landscape that inspired Salvador Dalí, who lived here for many years.

A magnificent lunch featuring arròs caldós amb llamàntol (a succulent rice dish with lobster) will be served at a beachfront restaurant overlooking one of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches on the Mediterranean.

  • Day 11

    Barcelona

Back in Barcelona, we’ll ensure you have a wonderful last day in the city, culminating in a fabulous dinner at a restaurant high in the hills, where you will enjoy delicious Mediterranean cuisine and be dazzled by the unforgettable spectacle of Barcelona spread out at your feet.

  • Day 12

    Head for Home

You’ll be taken to the airport, where we hope you’ll be checking in some fantastic memories along with your suitcases. We hope to see you again soon, or, as the Catalans say, Fins aviat!
