Enjoy a private, off-the-beaten-track food tour to the best food havens in Barcelona’s famous Born district

You'll discover the secrets of Catalonia’s world-renowned cuisine at the local market and two outstanding tapas bars. We start with a tour of the Santa Catalina food market, where you’ll learn all about the regional produce of Catalonia and how it’s used in traditional and new Catalan cuisine.

At the market, you have an olive oil tasting at a stall that boasts a selection of the best extra virgin oils of Catalonia and Spain. You’ll also try a selection of Catalonia’s best-loved cured meats and cheeses.

The main event is lunch at two of the city’s best tapas bars, in the atmospheric Born district. At the first, you enjoy a selection of inventive new and traditional Catalan tapas accompanied by excellent local wines. Our second stop has a selection of ingeniously reinvented Catalan desserts accompanied by local cava and coffee to finish.

Excellent lunches and tapas tour

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Barcelona, adored the Gaudi cathedral, loved the concert hall. Our two lunches and tapas tour were excellent and gave us a wonderful introduction and experience of Barcelona’s food and bars. Santa Maria del Mar was quite breath taking. 5 stars and a big thank you from us both.

I couldn’t recommend this more!

Three friends and I booked the back street tapas tour. We met our guide, Anthony, at a local market where he showed us around, explained the local delicacies, and of course got us some samples as well ;)
We then went to the most incredible tapas restaurant in the Gothic Quarter. Anthony took care of us, and ordered the most amazing dishes always asking us what we preferred and what we liked. We finished up the evening at a second restaurant for a few last delicacies and some incredible desserts and cava. It never once felt like Anthony was checking the time or was on a schedule to finish and he was an incredibly generous and fun host. On the contrary, after many dishes we were the ones that couldn’t eat any more and had to ask him to not order more!
We were genuinely sad when the tour was over. If you visit Barcelona, this should be the first person you contact!
