Wine cathedrals tour with lunch
This wine tour unique to Catalonia takes you to the region of Tarragona to explore Catalonia’s wine cathedrals and enjoy some of their produce. These spectacular buildings are cooperative wine cellars built in the early 1900s in the Art Nouveau style of Catalan modernism by Gaudi’s contemporaries, such as Cesar Martinell.
The wine tour takes you to three wine cathedrals; Pinell de Brai and Gandesa in the Terra Alta appellation and Falset in the Priorat appellation. At each wine cathedral, you have a guided tour explaining their history and function that’s followed by a wine tasting of their best wines.
Pinell de Bria also has an excellent restaurant attached which is where you have a table booked for a relaxed lunch, paired with local wines. After lunch, it’s on to Falset, the capital of the Priorat region to see the final cooperative of the day.

We pick you up at your hotel for the drive down to Tarragona
You have a guided tour with wine tasting at each of the three wine cooperatives
Your first stop is the wine cooperative of Gandesa in the Terra Alta D.O.
Next we take you to Pinell de Brai, probably the most iconic of the three wine cathedrals
You have a leisurely lunch at the Pinell de Brai winery
After lunch it's on to Falset to see the third wine cathedral, before returning to Barcelona

An Art Nouveau homage to wine
Built with high ceilings and a nave big enough to house the cooperatives’ large-scale fermentation tanks, it’s the dimensions and form of the buildings that gave the wine cathedrals their name. But what makes these buildings special is the beauty of their structure, typically of fine parabolic brickwork arches and neo-gothic windows. This combined with their details of decorated ceramic tiles makes them fine monuments to the god Bacchus!

A fantastic wine tour of the Priorat
Huge thank you to Anthony for a fantastic wine tour of the Priorat. We booked everything with very little notice and Anthony was very communicative and was able to book a fantastic winery that we did not have on our original list. The schedule was also flexible during the day itself and with some extras that really completed the experience. I highly recommend booking through them!
Amazing custom Penedes cava & chocolate tour!
We recently did a full day Penedes tour with Anthony and it was one of the best highlights of our trip to Spain! We specifically wanted to explore the smaller, high quality cava wineries and Anthony put together a visit to 3 very special wineries. He also added in a surprise visit to the Simon Coll chocolatier, which was delicious and allowed us to buy some holiday gifts. For lunch, we had a fantastic 3 course meal at a lovely restaurant with great views. Everything is included in the price, so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the winery visits, tastings and lunch without thinking of anything.
Awesome wine trip
Anthony planned an awesome wine trip to Priorat for my friend and I in November 2024. He suggested a great list of top wineries for us to pick from and made sure they all fit in our very tight schedule. He was so thoughtful throughout our trip to make sure all of our needs are met. The winery visits were delightful & the lunch was really delicious. We had such a great time!!

He was knowledgeable on all things Barcelona, especially the wine regions, and he was greeted like Sinatra in Vegas everywhere we went. Funny and so easy to talk to with a warm and inviting nature, Anthony slowly became much less a tour guide and much more a friend - he's Our Man in Barcelona. We absolutely plan to stay in touch, and when we return to Spain we will undoubtedly tour with him again
